Abstract

SUMMARY

In comparison with normal rats, those with iron deficiency anaemia showed no significant difference in susceptibility to experimental infection with although anaemic rats had a significantly greater incidence of persistent infection. These findings support the suggestion that patients with chronic candidosis should be investigated for iron deficiency.
