Abstract

Microaerobic bacteria were isolated from a baboon with pancreatic islet amyloidosis and hepatitis. Phenotypic and molecular analyses identified two distinct helicobacters. Analyses of 16S rRNA demonstrated ‘’ in the ileum and liver, and in the colon. To the best of the authors' knowledge, this is the first report describing the isolation of enterohepatic species from a baboon.
