Abstract

A colistin-resistant 4, [5],12:i:- sequence type (ST) 34 harbouring was recovered from a patient who travelled to China 2 weeks prior to diarrhoea onset. Genomic analysis revealed the presence of the gene located in the globally disseminated IncHI2 plasmid, highlighting the intercontinental dissemination of the colistin-resistant 4, [5],12:i:- ST34 pandemic clone.
